Gov. John Lynch said Wednesday pink slips will go to 750 state employees next month unless union leaders agree to a new contract by tomorrow.
He blamed State Employees Association negotiators for backing away from a tentative agreement reached in July.
At a news conference late Wednesday afternoon, SEA officials said the governor's statement is disingenuous and perplexing.

Lynch: If no deal by tomorrow, layoffs
