Points for Honesty; None for Policy

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky admits that the single-payer health care system she supports would destroy the private health-care marketplace, and she thinks that's a good thing:

The claim that health care is "too important to be left to the market", as so-called health care reformers argue, is laughable. If you think a good is important, and want to improve choice and quality while decreasing cost, you encourage markets. You certainly don't replace the billions of discreet decisions made each year with the wishes of bureaucrats and politicians.
