The Concord Monitor reports that the New Hampshire Secretary of State's office is seeking records from the
Local Government Center.
The secretary of state's office has issued a subpoena ordering the Local Government Center to hand over financial and administrative records as part of an investigation into the center's finances.
State regulators are investigating a complaint that the center is misusing its member contributions. A hearing on the matter had been scheduled for Thursday, but no one from the Local Government Center showed up, prompting the subpoena, said Kevin Moquin, an attorney with the state Bureau of Securities Regulation.
